The Lumbar Pillows collection at Lulu and Georgia gathers long, rectangular accent pillows in velvet, linen, jacquard, and mixed-material constructions—the essential finishing layer for a sofa, bed, or window seat. The collection includes the Arlo Linen Pillow (from $28), Carys Contrast Linen Pillow (from $78), Tiger Jacquard Pillow by Sarah Sherman Samuel (from $74), and the Irregular Checkerboard Bolster Pillow by Sarah Sherman Samuel (from $29.40).
What lumbar pillows does Lulu and Georgia carry?
Lulu and Georgia's lumbar pillow collection spans velvet, linen (Arlo Linen Pillow from $28, Carys Contrast Linen from $78), and designer jacquard constructions (Tiger Jacquard by Sarah Sherman Samuel from $74). The collection covers both simple solid lumbar pillows for layering as a neutral accent and more pattern-forward options—like the Carys Contrast Linen and Tiger Jacquard—that add visual interest as a focal point in the center of a sofa arrangement.
How do I style lumbar pillows on a sofa?
A lumbar pillow belongs in the center front of a sofa arrangement, lying flat in front of larger square or euro pillows. On a three-cushion sofa, place one lumbar centered at the front; on a sectional, use two lumbars at either end of the long section. Mix your lumbar with two or three larger square pillows behind it in coordinating but non-matching fabrics—velvet, linen, and a patterned jacquard make a strong trio. The lumbar's long horizontal format anchors the arrangement and adds a layer without bulk.
What is the difference between a lumbar and a bolster pillow?
A lumbar pillow is flat and rectangular—typically 14x20 inches or 14x26 inches—while a bolster is cylindrical and longer. Lumbars sit upright against the back of a sofa or at the base of a pillow arrangement; bolsters are more architectural and often used at the head of a bed or along the back of a daybed. Lulu and Georgia carries both in the lumbar collection alongside the bolster-style Sarah Sherman Samuel Irregular Checkerboard and Painterly Stripe Long Bolster Pillows.
