Freelance Furniture Designer (Monthly Retainer)

Join our innovative team as a Freelance Furniture Designer for Lulu and Georgia, a trend-driven home decor brand. In this role, you will assist the Senior Designer with the development of tech packs and contribute to the design and creation of both case goods and upholstery pieces. Your responsibilities will include interpreting design and development intentions from initial sketches to manufacturable specifications.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks and have sufficient experience in furniture design. Your role will involve interpreting design and development intent from initial sketches to manufacturable specifications. Your ability to manage multiple projects and your keen attention to detail will be crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop casegoods and upholstery pieces that reflect current trends and the brand aesthetic for collections and licensee collaborations
- Create detailed technical drawings (tech packs) and specifications for manufacturing, including materials, dimensions, and construction methods
- Aid in the Senior Designer’s development projects, specifically focusing on tech pack creation and development
- Implement engineering principles to ensure the structural integrity, stability, and durability of designs
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Senior Designer to ensure project goals and timelines are met
- Manage up to 40+ tech packs and developments monthly, adjusting to seasonal project needs. The project list may increase or decrease depending on current season requirements
- Efficiently incorporate feedback and design revisions to maintain project timelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a furniture designer, ideally within the home decor industry
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D software, along with experience in both upholstery and casegoods development
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and international mass production standards
- Ability to translate design concepts into detailed, manufacturable technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and direct manager, the Senior Designer
- Knowledge of furniture construction techniques, joinery, and upholstery methods

Territory Sales Manager (South)

The Territory Sales Manager (South) will be responsible for driving sales and cultivating relationships within their designated territory. This role requires a proactive approach to business development, with a strong emphasis on growing the business by working within an existing customer base and converting new prospects into loyal customers. The Territory Sales Manager will manage a portfolio of accounts, drive sales initiatives, and ensure Lulu and Georgia’s brand presence within their territory. Additionally, this role will involve overseeing a Trade Sales Specialist, who will assist in servicing accounts and handling administrative tasks such as writing up invoices and managing customer documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Business Growth: Consistently work to expand your customer base by proactively reaching out to existing clients and identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships. Develop strategies for converting new members into customers, ensuring consistent business growth
- Sales Strategy Execution: Implement territory-specific sales strategies that focus on both maintaining and expanding current accounts and securing new business opportunities. Meet and exceed revenue targets by effectively nurturing leads and closing sales
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts. Ensure client satisfaction by providing exceptional service and delivering timely solutions
- Product Promotion: Promote and educate customers on Lulu and Georgia’s product offerings, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the brand to convert leads into sales
- Sales Presentations: Lead presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients and partners, showcasing the full scope of Lulu and Georgia’s offerings
- Sales Reporting: Track progress, monitor KPIs, and report performance to the Manager, Trade Sales. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and sales pipeline
- Event Coordination: Participate in regional trade shows, events, and brand activations to increase brand visibility, develop leads, and drive business
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (marketing, logistics, product) to ensure alignment and success of sales strategies
- Team Management: Oversee the territory’s Trade Sales Specialist, ensuring they effectively handle key administrative and support tasks, such as writing up invoices, answering Zendesk inquiries and maintaining strong communication with clients
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of sales experience, preferably selling to interior designers and other members of the trade industry
- Proven ability to proactively grow a business by cultivating relationships with existing clients and converting new prospects into customers
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while working independently and collaborating with a team
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)

Trade Sales Specialist

The Trade Sales Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Territory Sales Manager by assisting in managing key customer accounts, ensuring efficient order processing, and providing high-level customer service. This position requires a customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to contributing to the growth of Lulu and Georgia. The Trade Sales Specialist will handle inbound pre-purchase inquiries through Zendesk, offering potential clients detailed product information and addressing any questions to drive sales. Additionally, they will collaborate with the Trade Support Team to manage all post-purchase inquiries, ensuring smooth order fulfillment, returns, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inbound Pre-Purchase Inquiries: Manage and respond to inbound customer inquiries through Zendesk, providing timely, informative, and accurate responses regarding products, pricing, availability, and any other pre-purchase questions
- Invoice/Order Management: Assist in writing up quotes and draft invoices, processing transactions, and following up with customers on payment status as needed. As needed, partner with the supply chain team for hold requests
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and Shopify regarding client interactions, sales opportunities, and progress on open orders
- Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the Territory Sales Manager in executing sales strategies, tracking performance, and identifying opportunities to grow the customer base
- Event Support: Assist in organizing and coordinating regional events and trade shows to promote the brand and engage with customers
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as supply chain, operations, marketing, and product teams, to ensure alignment and successful sales execution
- Reporting: Assist with preparing sales reports, tracking KPIs, and providing necessary updates to the Territory Sales Manager
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or an administrative support role, preferably within the furniture, home décor, or luxury goods industries
- Experience handling customer inquiries via Zendesk or similar helpdesk software
- Strong administrative skills with experience working in Shopify a plus
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
