Wall shelving does double duty in a room: it solves a storage problem and creates a display opportunity at the same time. At Lulu and Georgia, the wall shelving and cabinets collection brings together floating shelves in solid wood and metal, wall-mounted display shelving, small wall cabinets and medicine-style cabinets, and modular shelving systems — each chosen for material quality and the visual relationship between the shelf and the wall it sits on.
What wall shelving and cabinets does Lulu and Georgia carry?
The collection includes single floating shelves in natural and painted wood, metal and mixed-material display shelves, sets of two or three graduated shelves for gallery-style wall displays, small wall-mounted cabinets with doors for concealed storage, open-front wall cabinets, and decorative ledge shelves for framing and small objects. Most styles mount with hidden hardware for a clean floating appearance.
How do I hang floating shelves securely?
For floating shelves holding books, plants, or objects of any weight, mount into wall studs rather than drywall anchors wherever possible. Use a stud finder before marking holes. If studs don’t align with your shelf placement, use heavy-duty drywall anchors rated for at least twice the anticipated load. Follow the weight limit specified on the product page — floating shelves held only by drywall anchors have a lower practical weight limit than their rated capacity suggests.
How do I style a floating shelf without it looking cluttered?
Leave more space than feels instinctive. A shelf styled at 60–70% capacity reads as curated; a shelf filled to the edges reads as storage. Group objects in odd numbers and vary heights within each grouping — a tall vase, a mid-height stack of books, a small decorative object at low height. Repeat one material or color across the shelf to create cohesion. Live plants on shelves are highly effective; they add organic scale and move with the light in a way that gives the shelf visual life.
